Confession...I follow a few bloggers that help me shop for my wardrobe. Without them I think I would be in yoga clothes every day. I am always excited when bloggers reach out asking to photograph their looks especially when shoots take me back home to NC. Here are just a few of my favorites from my shoot with Amy Lozy. Seriously, do bloggers always look this pretty and do they look this good everyday?!!
I'm heading back to NC this weekend and I CAN. NOT. WAIT!!! I can't wait to squeeze all my babies I've been lucky to photograph every year, I can't wait to catch up with some of my best girlfriends and I can't wait to just be back home.
In honor of heading back home this weekend I wanted to share this chubby cheek, one year olds smash cake session. I can't wait to see how much he's grown and I can't wait to meet his new little brother. And can I just say, his momma sure is the sweetest. I love when clients turn into texting friends. I have THE BEST job!
High school senior shoots are one of my all time favorites to shoot! Every year I swear the rising seniors I get to photograph get more and more gorgeous. I can still remember my high school photos and laugh bc seriously what was I wearing and what was I thinking?!!! I'm not sure if social media has helped seniors look more like models these days bc of so many beauty and fashion influences and tutorials available but Jen was such a natural in front of the camera and the camera loved her!
Extended family sessions can be tricky because not everyone typically wants to take photos as a family or understands the importance of freezing time as a family. But the Schmidt family were extremely patient with me while I waited at times for the sun to go down in the perfect open field and never once did I hear a complaint about the extreme heat - it was a hot day! Then you add their precious 9 month old twins, adorable grandparents, hilarious sisters and you end up with the perfect family to photograph!
I miss you, NC! I was beyond excited and thrilled to be back in my home state and meet with old clients. There is nothing like being able to photograph families who you've had the privilege to photograph every year and watch their children grow up! How did they get so big, so fast?! I've missed a lot since we've moved in October. Some of my go-to locations had some major changes. NoDa, what happened to some of your colorful walls?! But I also had some time in between a few sessions and stumped upon a new awesome location that had the perfect light and last minute was able to switch locations on one of my clients - it was worth it!! I'll be back soon, NC! It was seriously so good to see everyone I was able to photograph on this last minute trip. Stay tuned, I'm trying to book another trip back the first weekend in June. Here are just a few of my favorites from my trip.
I can't even begin to tell you how beautiful these kids are. They were dressed to perfection and were so much fun to photograph. The lighting was amazing, the background was extremely green and the kids were so easy to photograph. By far, one of my favorite sessions to date!
What little girl wouldn't love a photoshoot with her BFF! These girls were full of energy and I loved watching them interact with each other. This is what true friendship looks like - smiling, laughing and a lot of dancing!
